Ads were yesterday! The successful extension Adblock Plus is now available for Google Chrome?.

By preventing the display of ads, Adblock Plus makes browsing the web less taxing on both your computer and your sanity.

Adblock Plus is a community-driven open source project that aims to make the internet better for everyone. It was originally created for the Firefox browser and with more than 100 million downloads it has become the most popular browser extension in the world. We are now offering Adblock Plus for Google Chrome? (formerly AdThwart) as well and the community is working hard to produce the same value you know from the Firefox version.

Please note that there is another extension called “AdBlock”, which is not related to the Adblock Plus movement but also works great.

Release announcements and changelogs can be found here: http://adblockplus.org/releases/

Problems? Try restarting Chrome and/or clicking “Update now” in the Adblock Plus Options.

Found a bug? We are aware of some issues: http://adblockplus.org/en/known-issues-chrome. If you found more or need help, visit our forum: https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=10.

Adblock Plus does not infringe on your privacy! Chrome shows a warning for all extensions that modify web pages using the same mechanism as Adblock Plus, even if they do not actually keep or send any private data such as your browsing history.

Feeling adventurous? Try out a development build: http://adblockplus.org/en/development-builds (updated separately, independent settings). The experimental development builds can even block in-video ads, not only on YouTube. And they protect your privacy better, e.g. they can prevent Facebook from tracking you (add Antisocial filter list).

  1. We stumbled over here coming from a different
website and thought I should check things out.
I like what I see so now i’m following you. Look
forward to checking out your web page yet again.

  2. wao sho lave

  3. Why is is extension an “editor’s choice”? Is it simply because of the brand name?

The author of Adblock Plus has sold out and is now allowing advertisements to pass through. The way it works is this: advertising companies contact Adblock Plus’ parent company, Eyeo GmbH, and pay a fee to have their content whitelisted.

Don’t believe me? Google “adblock plus sell out”
